AR. PE. PE's Grumello Rocca de Piro

A Family Legacy in the Valtellina Region

AR.PE.PE’s story traces back to Arturo Pelizzatti Perego, who established the winery in the early 1900s. The family lost the land briefly, but Arturo’s children brought it back into the fold in the ‘70s and ‘80s, reigniting their winemaking legacy. Now, six generations later, AR.PE.PE continues to produce wines with true family pride from the foothills of the Alps, where each bottle carries the family’s roots and passion.

Why Grumello Rocca de Piro Stands Out

This isn’t your typical Nebbiolo—it’s Valtellina Superiore. Grown in steep, sun-drenched vineyards in Lombardy, these grapes have to be handpicked and, occasionally, helicopter-lifted due to the rugged terrain. It’s a labor of love, rewarded with Nebbiolo that’s rich, balanced, and distinct. AR.PE.PE lets their wine age in the cellar until it’s just right, and the 2017 release shows off the best of their craft. Grumello Rocca de Piro is lighter and approachable, yet packed with flavor, making it a Nebbiolo that pairs easily with a range of dishes.

A Wine for Every Meal

Grumello Rocca de Piro is a versatile pairing partner, whether you’re indulging in pizza, pasta, or a hearty steak. Its balanced acidity and tannins make it a “whole meal wine,” perfect from appetizers to mains.
